New Business Units at Schooner Court
Five new marine business units are available to let at Schooner Court, Gould Road, Salcombe.
You can now apply for one of five brand-new units currently under construction that are due to be completed by the end of October.
This timescale is subject to change, but we anticipate that the units will be ready to occupy early in the New Year.
About the units
The units are in the Gould Road area of Salcombe, next to the entrance to Salcombe dinghy compound. They are close to the main town slipway and new harbour office which is also under construction.
Each unit has an approximate gross internal area of 75 m2 (807 ft2).

How will the units be let?
This is not a tender process; the units are available to rent on a fixed commencing annual rent of £7,500.00 per annum.
Applications will be evaluated against the scoring matrix below. This will make sure that there is a clear and fair evaluation process for all applications received.
You will need to provide a supporting statement about how securing a unit will aid your business as well as the community as a whole. You will also need to outline your planned use of the premises - for example, types of work undertaken, any industrial processes and how often you expect customers or visitors on site.

Applications must be received no later that 12 noon on Monday 3 October 2022.
We will then assess the applications and notify successful parties no later than the week commencing 17 October 2022.
If you are successful, you will need to provide further details as part of a credit check and ID verification process. Once this is completed, a draft lease will be prepared.
You will need to provide as much relevant detail as possible on the application form. You will also see that each question has been given a weighted scoring profile which stresses its importance to the application.
Evaluation scores will be based on the information supplied on the application form and any attached documents.
The evaluation panel will score the applications using the scale below:
|Unacceptable||0||Nil or inadequate response. Fails to demonstrate an ability to meet the requirement.|
|Poor||2||Response is partially relevant and poor. The response addresses certain elements of the requirements but contains insufficient/ limited detail or explanation to demonstrate how the requirements will be fulfilled.|
|Satisfactory||5||Response is relevant and acceptable. The response addresses a broad understanding of the requirements but may lack details on how the requirement will be fulfilled in certain areas.|
|Good||8||Response is relevant and good. The response is sufficiently detailed to demonstrate a good understanding and provides details on how the requirements will be fulfilled.|
|Excellent||10||Response is completely relevant and excellent overall. The response is comprehensive, unambiguous and demonstrates a thorough understanding of the requirement and provides details of how the requirement will be met in full.|
