Since declaring our Climate Emergency, South Hams District Council has been committed to working with our partners to reduce carbon emissions across the District.
We are working hard across the District to improve the network of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points available to both residents and visitors alike. Charging points are already available in two of the largest towns in the South Hams and more are planned for installation.

EV charging Points to be installed in 2023/24
Through the Devon and Torbay Residential Chargepoint Scheme, we plan to install EV Chargers in the following car parks in 2023:
- Steamer Quay car park, Totnes
- North Street car park, Totnes
- Duncombe Park car park, Kingsbridge
- Lower Union Road car park, Kingsbridge
Where are EV Charging Points available?
Our car park directory can be searched to show which car parks have electric vehicle charging. Simply select the electric vehicle charging box on the menu on the left-hand side.
You need to pay for parking while using the Electric Vehicle Charging bays.
The towns and villages with EVCs are:
- Ivybridge
- Kingsbridge
- Dartmouth
- Totnes
- Salcombe
- Modbury
