There have been reports of Council representatives knocking on doors and offering home energy improvements. The Council will not cold call for home improvements. Under the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) Help to Heat local flexible eligibility, energy suppliers/installers will be able offer grants, using the Council's eligibility criteria. This allows them to install fully funded or subsidised energy saving measures for households, which have been declared eligible by the Council. The Council do not provide the funding; it is provided by the Energy Companies. There are a number of installing companies who are contacting residents regarding the grants. The Council does not recommend or endorse any specific companies and residents are advised that eligibility under the scheme may not necessarily result in a full grant. If any company cold calls or of they claim they work for the Council in home improvements, please do not engage with them or allow them into your home.
