ECO Local Flexibility Funding
There is an opportunity for grant aid (subject to eligibility) for improvements such as a new central heating system, upgrades to the existing heating system and/or insulation measures. Under the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) Local Flexible Eligibility, energy suppliers/installers will be able to offer grants, using the attached Council's Statement of Intent. This allows them to install fully funded or subsidised energy saving measures in the homes, which have been declared eligible by the Council. To be eligible the household will need to have a net income of £35000 and the property to have an Energy Performance Rating of D and below.
The installing company will do an initial survey on your property to confirm what measures are needed. The ECO grant will be calculated and the amount will depend on the type of measure along with the type/size of the property. The installer will be upfront and clear on what is needed and the costs.
The Council does not provide the ECO funding, the energy companies do.
You will be asked to complete the Council's declaration form. This will be sent to the Council, via the installer, within 5 working days of receipt. If the Council is satisfied, we will provide the formal ECO Flex Declaration to the installer. The installer will then be able to confirm installation date.
If the ECO grant does not cover all the costs, the installer will be able to advise you on other options which may include help from the Council.
There are a number of installing companies working in the area who are contacting residents directly regarding the grants. The companies are targeting properties rather than residents. The Council does not recommend or endorse any specific companies, however companies need to agree to the Council's Code of Practice (see attached).
