Most parks and gardens are available to be used for community events, such as fetes, shows, regattas and festivals. If you want to book Council land for an event, find out how below.

How do I book an event?

It is important that if you are planning an event on Council land that you give careful consideration to how you will put on a safe and enjoyable event and to assist in this, we have information and a booking form available for you to use.

What information do you need?

You will need to be able to submit the following:-

  • An 'Event on Council Land' Booking Form
  • Proof of Insurance Cover for up to £5,000,000
  • A Risk Assessment
  • A Waste Management Plan
  • A Site Plan

Remember, we will require a minimum of 28 day notice in advance of any proposed event.

How much will it cost?

Whilst there is no charge for charity or community events for the hire of the event space, South Hams District Council applies an administration fee of £50 per event.

Commercial / Trading events are charged at £240 per day, £60 for setting up, with the administration fee of £50 per event.
