The Councils keeps a list of people who are interested in Self or Custom Build projects.
You can register your interest by completing this form. Completing the form does not commit you to anything, or that there is land available for projects. It does provide us with important information about how many plots are needed and where the need is.
Please complete the Register an Interest in Self Build form in as much detail as possible and supply any requested information.
It's often thought that Self Build and Custom Build mean the same thing, but there is a difference.
In a custom build, you pay other people for their expertise to oversee and complete your project, which is built according to your own design and needs.
A self build means that you are carrying out most of the work yourself, using other people's expertise occasionally.
A group of people could get together to complete a self build and/or custom build project or projects.
More information about self builds and custom builds can be found in the Right to Build Toolkit.
