If you want to use the historic Dartmouth Lower Ferry, all the information you need about operating hours and charges are outlined below.

Paper Vouchers

Are you still using the paper vouchers? From 1 May 2020 we will no longer be using these on the Dartmouth Lower Ferry. You can transfer your remaining vouchers onto one of top-up cards next time you're on the Ferry.

Cards cost £2 each and your remaining paper vouchers will be transferred onto the card. The table below shows the savings you can make with the top up card - 40 journeys as a foot passenger is just £25.00, saving a massive £35.00.

About the Ferry

  • The ferry has been transporting vehicles and foot passengers between Dartmouth and Kingswear since the 1700s.
  • The Ferry is operated using a floating platform pushed along by a tug.
  • The crossing offers lovely views of Dartmouth, Kingswear, Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth Castle and the open sea.
