You can put just about any type of paper or cardboard into the blue sack, as long as it is clean and dry. You don’t even need to remove the windows from envelopes!
We are unable to accept Tetrapak cartons for recycling, but if you wish to recycle these you can take them to one of the Tetrapak recycling banks in the district. Not only has Tetrapak funded these green recycling banks, the company is also responsible for emptying them.
In the past we were unable to accept Yellow Pages for recycling, although this has now changed and old copies of the Yellow Pages can be recycled in the blue sack.
Once we have collected your blue sacks we take them to a company called Severnside who have a depot in Plymouth. Here the blue sacks are ripped open by a machine and the paper and cardboard are then baled and sold on the open market to companies that need them to make new products.
