Salcombe Harbour Authority, in partnership with South Hams District Council, English Nature and the Duchy of Cornwall, employ a Marine Conservation Officer, to coordinate and manage the environmental issues concerning the Salcombe-Kingsbridge estuary. The aim of the post and the Environmental Management Plan is to encourage an active, hands-on approach to the conservation of the estuary by the local community.
