In addition to local government members there are members of our national and European Parliaments that represent the citizens of the South Hams district.

There are two part parliamentary constituencies within the South Hams which are called:

• Totnes
• South West Devon

There are also a total of six MEPs representing the region in the European Parliament at Strasbourg.
