Reporting concerns about taxis in South Hams

How to report a concern about a taxi or private hire vehicle in the South Hams.

South Hams taxi and private hire drivers and vehicles must be licensed by the council. Drivers are in a position of trust and therefore have to adhere to a strict code of conduct and undergo regular checks to ensure they are fit and proper to drive members of the public around. These checks include criminal records checks, driving record checks and medical checks amongst others. Licensed vehicles are also subject to strict regular safety checks and must comply with our taxi policy.

We want to hear about any complaints or concerns that you may have experienced when using a taxi. Our main priority is to ensure the safety of the public when using a local taxi service. If your experience falls short of the standards you would expect, it is important that you let us know.

Please report this to us by using the form below and sending to licensing@swdevon.gov.uk
