The hearing part of the Examination is now closed and the Inspector's binding report was received by the Council in July 2007 and the Council resolved to adopt the AAP on 2 August 2007.
The Independent Examination into the Soundness of the Sherford Area Action Plan (AAP) opened on 23rd January 2007. During the Examination the Inspector invited the Council to consider undertaking further work. This included :
- a comparative site assessment of the Sherford AAP site with the alternative site which is being promoted by the Plymouth and South West Co-op, this will form an addendum to the Sherford SA/SEA published in June 2006 and;
- further consideration of other issues appropriate to the overall scope of the work to include bats, archaeology, flood risk and wind turbines.
Following on from the Examination the Council sent a letter to the Inspector outlining the proposed way forward in light of the Inspectors comments. Attached to the letter was a project brief for the work.
The Addendum was published on 22nd February 2007, and was be subject to a 6 week consultation period which concluded at 5pm on the 5th April 2007.
