Sherford Area Action Plan (AAP)
In October 2004 the Council published a ‘Town and Village’ (Area Action Plans/Site Specific Allocations: Issues, Options and Preferred Options) as one of the first steps in the South Hams Local Development Framework (LDF) process. This included a section on Sherford new community on the edge of Plymouth. The Council advanced the Sherford Area Action Plan (AAP) as a priority document and published a Preferred Options report in June 2005. It contained proposals and requirements for the Sherford new community. The principle of preparing this as an informal joint Sherford AAP with Plymouth City Council was agreed. The AAP reflects the Enquiry by Design work facilitated by the Prince’s Foundation.
