To make progress with the Sherford proposal following its approval through the Devon Structure Plan process, the Council organised a major stakeholder participation event called an Enquiry by Design workshop, led by the Prince of Wales Foundation for the Built Environment. The Prince's Foundation is an educational charity which aims to raise the quality of design in significant new development schemes and put people and communities at the centre of the design process. The Enquiry by Design for Sherford took place in July 2004 (2 days) and October 2004 (3 days), and worked up a new vision for the development as the basis to produce a detailed masterplan for the site. This master plan now needs further testing and consultation. The final presentations given by the Prince's Foundation at the end of each workshop and a copy of their Summary Report can be viewed on-line.
