Household collection - how it works

Recycling and composting are collected one week and non-recyclable waste the next.

Recycling can be placed in the blue or clear sacks, while cooked and uncooked food and garden waste should be placed in the brown wheeled bin. Waste which cannot be recycled or composted should be put in the grey bin, which goes to landfill.

If, after assessment, your property cannot accommodate wheeled bins, or our vehicles are unable to access your property, please place black refuse sacks in the re-usable seagullproof sacks provided. The black sacks will be collected every week - please secure your seagull-proof sacks and weigh down if necessary. Every fortnight place your recycling sacks next to the seagull-proof sack.
