The waste that is produced by businesses is classed as a controlled waste and if you have a business, by law, you have a duty of care under the Environmental Protection Act to store, transport and safely dispose of any waste that you generate.

Disposal of waste from a business is not paid for by business rates. This means that businesses are charged for the collection and disposal of their waste and/or recycling.
South Hams District Council is one of a number of licensed waste carriers in the area, who can collect waste from a business and can provide a collection service for general waste and dry non-hazardous waste, from businesses in the district;
We provide regular scheduled collections at competitive prices and give businesses the option of using either specially printed green sacks or the choice of a variety of sizes of wheeled bins, to suit their needs. As part of the trade waste service we will make sure that your business meets its legal obligations and we will help you to handle your waste in the right way.
