The placing of memorial trees and benches has been a service offered by the Council for many years.  However, a point has now been reached where the number of requests for memorials, in particular benches, is creating difficulties with finding acceptable new spaces.

The Council is also looking at a number of schemes for memorial tree planting including the establishment of memorial woodland on Council land

At the current time, the Council has suspended the memorial service and would like to re-launch this service in 2008.
