One way to remember the life of a friend or loved one after their death is through the arrangement of a long-standing tribute, a reminder that they are not forgotten. A memorial seat or tree has always been a popular choice.

You can visit the memorial seats and trees at a loved one's favourite viewpoint, either in a park or some other place where they liked to relax and let time pass by.

South Hams District Council is pleased to offer the following memorial scheme options:-

Memorial Bench

Memorial Benches can be placed in many South Hams parks and open spaces, to commemorate a loved one or allowing members of the public to make a dedication of their choice.

Sponsor A Bench

This memorial scheme is open to all those who wish to participate and is not confined to the commemoration of the recently deceased.  This provides members of the public an opportunity to sponsor a memorial bench with a dedication of their choice.

Commemorative Tree

Commemorative or dedicated trees can be placed in many of the South Hams parks and open spaces.
