There are various ways in which you can become a home owner or rent your home.
You could purchase outright but for many people this is not an option and there are other schemes which enable you to get onto the housing ladder such as:
- Shared ownership or the Key Worker Scheme.
If you cannot afford to get a mortgage or think that home ownership is not for you, you could rent a property from the private sector or from a housing association.
You may be a landlord and consider leasing your property to the Council to use for temporary accommodation.
Further information on these options:
What to do if you are in mortgage arrears or how to access any of the schemes the Council operates such as the Deposit Guarantee scheme are available in this section.
