Assessing Housing Need Applications for housing will be awarded points according to the factors set out on in the table below

After applications for housing have been assessed, applicants will be notified in writing as to whether or not they have been accepted on to the register, the number of points awarded to their application and their prospects for rehousing.

The demand for affordable housing within the district is considerably greater than the number of properties that become available for allocation. This means that applicants accepted onto the register will have to wait for a period of time before an offer of accommodation can be made. The length of time an applicant has to wait will depend on their housing need and the number of points awarded to their application.
