The Council is responsible for clearing fly tipping and dumped waste on public land.

Small scale dumped waste is removed - where possible we may investigate to see if we can find out who is responsible and prosecute. We encourage the public to be alert and report instances of dumped waste. If you have any details of the person responsible, such as vehicle registration, please report them to us on 01803 861234.

The Environment Agency are responsible for prosecuting in the event of acts of fly tipping. If you see an incident of fly tipping, be discreet, but try to note the following details:

• The date, time and the place where the tipping is taking place, or has occurred
• What the waste is and how much of it there is
• A description of any vehicles involved and the registration number
