South Hams District Council is responsible for the collection of litter from litter bins and the sweeping of litter from adopted roads throughout the district. This activity is operated in accordance with standards outlined in the Litter Code of Practice for street cleansing.
- Litter and dog waste bins are also provided and emptied on a regular basis by the council, to ensure that we maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the district.
- Beach Cleansing is another service that we are responsible for. The council currently cleans 11 amenity beaches on the South Hams coastline.
