All domestic properties in the district should be using the blue and clear recycling sacks. Even if your property does not have the wheeled bins, you should still recycle as much of your waste as possible using the blue and clear sacks.
Some people ask us if they can use recycling banks instead of the recycling sacks, this is fine to do, but you will find that there are not recycling banks for everything that we can take in the recycling sacks. For example the paper banks in the district can only be used to recycle newspapers and magazines, but our blue sack can be used to recycle most types of paper and cardboard. You will probably find that you need to use recycling sacks as well as recycling banks.
You don't need to put the recycling sacks out every two weeks. If you have a half full recycling sack, you can keep it until it is full up, or you can put it out for collection - its up to you!
Please don't use the blue and clear sacks to recycle waste from businesses. Business waste needs to be dealt with in a different way to household waste and if a business uses the domestic recycling scheme, they will not be able to meet their legal requirements.
