The Buskers Code of Practice is a scheme which was put together by the Environmental Health Department at South Hams District Council in conjunction with Totnes Town Council and the Police, in response to complaints received about the activities of some buskers (street entertainers).
Its aim is to allow buskers to perform without causing unreasonable complaints to those around them. To ensure that the code was reasonable buskers in Totnes were consulted and helped to draft the conditions.
The code outlines what is considered reasonable by the Council with respect to noise complaints and other matters which people may have issues with. If a complaint was received and the busker concerned was complying with the Code it is very unlikely that the Council would need to take any formal action.
If you would like to sign up to the Code of Practice please complete the
registration form and return it by post or by e-mail.
