Dogs are an important part of many peoples lives but can, if not properly looked after and controlled, adversely affect the lives of others. This is why the South Hams promotes ‘Responsible Dog Ownership’.
Responsible dog owners:-
- Clean up after their dog.
- Keep their dogs under control at all times especially near roads and livestock.
- Care for their dogs health with regular innoculations and worming.
- Ensure their dog is readily identifiable with a collar and tag.
In the South Hams various laws reinforce the need to be a responsible dog owner and protect residents and visitors to the District.
