If flood water is causing a risk to life, call the Fire Brigade.

Limited stocks of sandbags are usually available for collection from Council depots Monday to Friday 08.00 to 16.00 excluding Bank Holidays. You must telephone 01803 861234 to check availability and location before travelling. Sandbags are not supplied to any commercial properties.
The maximum number of sandbags issued is 10 per property, however, this may be further restricted during periods of high demand, extreme weather and flooding.
You are encouraged to make your own arrangements to protect your home during periods of flooding, as you may not be able to reach our depots by road.
The Council during times of emergency will be endeavouring to protect the public at large and may not be able to assist individual home owners.
Subject to our emergency response workload and the availability of staff and transport, sandbags may be delivered to the elderly or persons with disabilities. Please remember that during spells of major flooding and inclement weather it may take several hours for us to respond and it may actually be impossible to reach you by road.
