The Affordable Housing Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) is an important supporting document to the South Hams Local Development Framework (LDF). It contains the Council’s detailed approach for delivering affordable housing building on the policy context of the Affordable Housing Development Plan Document. The draft Affordable Housing SPD was subject to a 6 week consultation in January 2008 and adopted by the Council in September 2008.

Sustainability Appraisal

The adopted Affordable Housing SPD has been subject to a Sustainability Appraisal (SA), incorporating Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) during its preparation. A Sustainability Appraisal Report accompanies the adopted Affordable Housing SPD:  which sets out the findings of the SA.

The Affordable Housing SPD is available on this website by using the links above. This document is also available for public inspection at the Council offices, Follaton House, Totnes on Monday–Thursday 09:00–17:00 and Friday 09:00–16:30 and at the local libraries within the district.
