The Council produced a Concept Statement for every development site proposed in the draft Local Plan Review (2002). The Concept Statements show how development might take place and the quality and sustainability standards the Council expects. They explain the characteristics of each site and the principles that should guide its development to ensure its character is preserved and local needs are met.

The Council is now preparing a Local Development Framework (LDF) for the district which will reconsider these Concept Statements.
