Development Control and Conservation seek to promote good design and a physical environment which is locally distinctive and respects the outstanding landscape of the district. It will achieve this by advising applicants of what is needed; expecting a high standard of submitted information and being prepared to refuse applications which have harmful impacts. It also uses its enforcement powers to deal with unauthorised and unacceptable development.
