Charging Orders

- If you owe over £1,000, the Council could apply to the County Court for a charge to be placed on your property. The charge can also include any cost reasonably incurred in obtaining the order.
- If the Court is satisfied, they will place a charging order on the property which means that the debt, and any subsequent Council Tax debt, will be taken from the proceeds of the sale, when the property is sold.
