- If you owe over £750, the council could apply to the County Court to have you made bankrupt.
- The Court may ask you to provide details of all your debts and, if they decide you are unable to pay them, declare you bankrupt.
- the debt may then be written-off – but bankruptcy could have serious consequences for your credit rating in the future.
