Those who are providing care and fulfil the following criteria will be disregarded when assessing the number of adults in a property for Council Tax: The person providing care must

• be providing care or support on behalf of a local authority, the Crown, or a charitable organisation or be employed by the person they are caring for but were introduced to the person by a charitable organisation
• provide the care and support for at least 24 hours a week
• receive less than £44.00 per week in respect of that care (or £36.00 per week prior to 1st April 2007).
• live in premises provided either by or on behalf of the relevant body, or by the employer for the better performance of the work
