South Hams District Council collects Council Tax from approximately 41,000 households. The Council Tax not only covers some of our spending but also that of the parish council, Devon County Council and the Police and Fire Authorities. The rest of the money we need comes from other sources of income – such as car park charges and from Central Government.

Reducing your banding for space required by a disability, discounts and exemptions that you may be entitled to, Council Tax Benefit and Second Adult Rebate. For many of these reductions there are application forms that you can print off.
