Under the Road Traffic Act of 1984, car park operators are given powers to enforce parking restrictions by setting tariffs and issuing fines where users fail to adhere to the displayed terms and conditions.
The Council created an Off Street Parking Order to achieve this function and in 1999 the latest Order was published, since then it has been amended in the Amendment Orders, 2001,2003,2004, 2005 and 2006.
South Hams District Council proposes to make the following changes to its off-street car parking charges:-
Amendment Order 2007 - Proposals for the new charges are out for consultation. Any objections need to be sent in writing by 29th December 2006.
