Sundry Debts cover a wide range of debts owed to the Council. These include charges for services such as rubbish collection for businesses and booking fees for squash and badminton courts, and are collected by way of invoices.
Invoices are also sometimes used to recover Housing Benefit overpayments. Overpayments occur for a number of reasons but usually when a claimant's income and circumstances change resulting in a reduction in the amount of benefit due, and there has been a delay in telling the Council.
