A Local Land Charge is a restriction/prohibition or a financial charge on a parcel of land that is binding on successive owners/occupiers. Local Land Charges would not normally be disclosed by an examination of the title deeds or by inspection of the land or property itself so unless you have a search undertaken you may purchase a property that has restrictive conditions. Examples of Local Land Charges are:
- Conditional Planning Consents
- Tree Preservation Orders
- Planning Agreements
- Highway Agreements
- Enforcement Notices
- Conservation Areas
- Listed Buildings
- Local Authority Grants
