The Land Charges offices at Devon County Council, Plymouth City Council and Torbay Council are responsible for the updating of the Common Land and Town or Village Green Register for Devon. The function includes making amendments to the Register and registering new Town or Village Greens within their respective areas of Devon.
Common Land and Village Green searches are received on a daily basis direct from Solicitors and Licensed Conveyancers. Prior to 2007 these searches were requested by completing a CR21 form and sending that form directly to the relevant Authority. The CR21 form has now been extinguished and the enquiry is requested by submitting a CON29O form of optional enquiries to the Authority 2007 and indicating Question 22 on that form.
