The Development Policies DPD is an important document in the South Hams Local Development
Framework (LDF). It contains a suite of policies to guide decisions on planning applications.
A Publication stage version of the document was issued for a six week consultation
in May 2009. The document, along with suggested changes was submitted to the Secretary of State. An
independent examination into the soundness of the Development Policies DPD was held in March 2010.
The
Inspector's Report on the Development Policies DPD was received by the Council
in May 2010. The changes to the Publication version of the Development Policies DPD, specified in the
report, are binding on the Council. The Council resolved to adopt the Development Policies DPD on 15
July 2010.
