The Council published a
Draft Supplementary Planning Document on Validation of Planning Applications in December 2005. The document was available for comment over a six week period (22 December 2005 – 2 February 2006) and set out the details and information that the Council will require from those submitting a planning application.
Sustainability Appraisal
The draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) has been subject to a Sustainability Appraisal (SA), incorporating Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), at several stages during its preparation. A

Notice of Matters – this briefly outlines the content of the document, the process for making comments and how to request notification when the document reaches the next stage of the process (Adoption).
What happens next?
At the end of the six week consultation period, the Council considered all the comments received on the draft SPD making any necessary changes to the document prior to submission for inspection.
