The Council published a Draft Supplementary Planning Document in December 2005. The document is available for comment over a six week period (22 December 2005 – 2 February 2006).
The document sets out the details and information that the Council will require from those submitting a planning application.

Sustainability Appraisal
The draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) has been subject to a Sustainability Appraisal (SA), incorporating Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), at several stages during its preparation. A Sustainability Appraisal Report accompanies the draft SPD which sets out the findings of the SA.

How do I make comments?
The Draft Supplementary Planning Document on Validation of Planning Application and the accompanying Sustainability Appraisal Report are available for comment during a six week formal consultation period from 22 December to 2 February 2006. A response form is available below to register your views. All comments must be received by the Council by 5.00pm on 2 February 2006.

What happens next?
At the end of the six week consultation period, the Council will consider all the comments received on the draft SPD and make any necessary changes to the document. The Council hopes to adopt the SPD in June 2006. A copy of the adopted SPD on Open Space, Sport and Recreation will be available on this website.
