Translation

Criminal damage and graffiti

Criminal damage and graffiti are illegal, anti-social activities that create negative impressions of an area and can contribute to people's fear of crime, deter visitors and tourists, cost a great deal to tackle/remove, increase insurance/security costs, and thereby reduce investment opportunities and the District's commercial attractiveness.

Who do I report incidents to?

Incidents of criminal damage and graffiti of the District's

  • public toilets
  • parks and open spaces
  • public car parks

should be reported to South Hams District Council on either 01803 861234 or by email to customer.services@southhams.gov.uk.

Any criminal damage of roads, street furniture, bus shelters, lamp posts, etc can be reported to Devon County Council.

Alternatively, if in doubt who to report an incident of criminal damage or graffiti to, or if it has occurred on non-council property, it should be reported to the police where applicable.
