The Council operates 39 pay & display car parks and 10 non fee paying car parks across the district with a total of 4013 spaces.
In the year 2004/2005 total income received from the parking operation was £2,160,400, to operate the service it cost £1,041,100, making a net contribution to the Councils budget of £1,119,300.
This contribution assisted in subsidising Council Tax and helped contribute to many Council services such as street sweeping, grounds maintenance, life guarding with the RNLI, beach cleaning, waste collection, public toilets and many more important services.
