Both residents and visitors appreciate the ability to gain access to the South Hams countryside for walking, cycling or horse-riding. Much of this is on existing Public Rights of Way but a number of initiatives are in place to improve the quality of the existing network – and make additional access possible.
Full details of the Public Right of Way network are available from Devon County Council Website.
A series of events are available around the South Hams – see the listing on the AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) Website.
There are, of course, a wide range of more formal recreation facilities and opportunities around the South Hams and these are detailed on the Tourism website.
