Our overall role is to safeguard the estuary for the enjoyment of all and to manage and control activities within the estuary in a safe and effective manner. This role varies enormously during the summer and winter seasons :

The Harbourmaster has eleven full-time staff who are complimented by ten seasonal staff during the busy summer period.
Vision
To retain and enhance the character of Salcombe and Kingsbridge Estuary whilst updating harbour facilities to meet the requirements and expectations of residents and visitors for the 21st century.
Functions of the Service
To manage Salcombe Harbour, as empowered by the Salcombe Harbour Act of 1954, on a self-financing basis.
