The Housing Strategy statement updates the information provided in South Hams District Council’s 1999 submission. It describes the Authority’s intended plans for housing related activity over the next three years.
Homelessness Review and Strategy
The Council, as an excellent authority, is exempt from the statutory duty to publish a new homelessness strategy, based on the results of a further homelessness review, within the period of five years of their last homelessness strategy being published. However, South Hams District Council has developed a revised strategy based on an up-to-date review of homelessness in the district.
The revised Homelessness Strategy will direct our Housing Advice Service over the next five years and aims to meet identified gaps in services within the available resources for South Hams residents. The Strategy has been developed through a combination of research and feedback from partner stakeholders and services users.
The Draft Homelessness Review and Strategy (2008-2013) is now available on this site and reference copies are also available at Follaton House. The Council is interested in your views on how we provide for homelessness and our homelessness prevention service.
Please take time to read our Strategy and its accompanying Action Plan and use the questionnaire to give us your views. We will be collating all the comments received and including the feedback within the final document. This consultation will end on Monday 25th August 2008 and you have an opportunity to provide your views throughout this period.
