Putting customers first
A Customer First initiative has been adopted by South Hams District Council to help make dealing with the council easier than ever before.
What is Customer First?
Customer First is a charter that publicly outlines the standards and level of service the council aims to achieve. This charter is designed to make the council more open and accessible, putting the customers’ needs firmly at the heart of everything the council does.
How does it work?
Under Customer First, anyone contacting the council to obtain a service will receive a set of standards detailing the level of customer service they can expect. The standards also explain what the customer can do to help enquiries get resolved quicker and what to do if things don't happen as expected.
What are the benefits?
This initiative will lead to better customer service, faster resolution of customer enquiries and will hopefully improve customer satisfaction with the district council.
Our pledge to you
The council already strives to provide a good service to its customers but we want to do even better, and Customer First will help us to do exactly that. If we miss our standards for responding to your letters or emails by more than three days you may be entitled to compensation.
