Definitions of dates:
Date application received: This is the date the application
was received by the Planning Department
Date application valid: This is the date all information was
received to be able to valdidate the application
Target Date: This is the date by which we aim to made a decision.
For most application this is 8 weeks from the Valid date, but for some ‘Major’ applications it
is 13 weeks from the Valid date.
Advertised on: Date application was advertised in local newspaper
Expiry date for advertisement/comments: Date comments
are due on the application.
You can submit comments on current planning applications.
You should usually submit your comments within
three weeks of validation of the planning application. However, if the comment end date has passed,
but no decision has yet been made you may still make representations which will be taken into account
if the decision process allows. You can submit your comments using the "comments” box on the application.
Please note that comments submitted to the Council cannot be treated as confidential and will be made
available for public inspection.

We advertise all applications in the local paper and put site notices on or near each application
site.
