Arts Grants
Unfortunately the Council is not able to directly provide small arts grants. However some projects may qualify for a grant from the Community Grant Fund. Click here for more information.
South Hams District Council gives financial support to two key arts projects in the area:
Nine Days of Art
Nine Days of Art is a bi-annual Devon-wide arts trail that allows people to discover the often invisible creative world of artists who live and work in the hidden valleys, moors and market and coastal towns of Devon. In 2005 the South Hams had the largest contingent of artists in Devon – 65 artists exhibiting in over 50 venues.

Villages in Action
Villages in Action (VIA) is a rural touring scheme that helps to bring top quality professional performances and workshops at affordable prices to communities through a network of local promoters. Created in 1992, the scheme now covers five of the seven district council areas of Devon and has 65 active communities, reaching about 8,000 people annually as audience members or workshop participants.
Every Spring VIA publishes a Menu of professional performances that can be booked by rural communities at subsidised prices. Each event is put on in partnership between local people and VIA.
