As a planning authority South Hams District Council develops a forward planning strategy. Within this document consideration is given to land designated for business use. Due to changes in planning law the council is moving from a Local Plan to the Local Development Framework as the basis for this strategy.
Development of sites and property for business use is subject to planning law. The planning application process is termed 'development control.'
Successful development relies on a detailed consideration of many issues, in particular those relating to the natural environment.
