Postal Votes
Photo - A postbox

You can chose to vote by post, if you cannot or do not wish to attend your polling station. You do not have to give any reason for asking for a postal vote. Applications can be made for a single election, a specified period or indefinitely. A postal vote can be sent to your home address or to any other address specified by you and can even be sent to an overseas address, but you need to consider whether there would be time for you to receive and return your ballot paper by polling day.

Postal ballot papers are usually despatched about a week before polling day and if you have been sent a postal vote, you cannot vote in person at the polling station, although you can hand deliver your postal vote to the polling station should you wish to.

If you wish to make an application to vote by post, please download a Adobe Acrobat Document -- will open in new browser windowpostal vote application form, complete it, sign it and then return it to the Electoral Services Office.

You can return the form in one of the following ways:-
