1.         Minutes - to approve as a correct record and authorise the Chairman to sign the minutes of the meeting of the Committee held on 9 March 2010 and the joint meeting of the Audit and Standards Committees held on 6 April 2010;

 

2.         Urgent Business - brought forward at the discretion of the Chairman;

 

3.         Division of Agenda - to consider whether the discussion of any item of business is likely to lead to the disclosure of exempt information;

 

4.         Declarations of Interest - Members are invited to declare any personal or prejudicial interests, including the nature and extent of such interests; they may have in any items to be considered at this meeting;
 

5.         Review of Procedures: Assessment and Investigation – to consider a report which reviews the procedure approved in 2008 for conducting assessment of complaints against Members and presents a procedure for those conducting investigations;

6.         Annual Report of the Monitoring Officer – to consider the Monitoring Officer’s annual report which specifically highlights the following areas: annual review of complaints; review of registers of interests and of gifts / hospitality; and Standards on the website;

7.         Review of Constitution and Scheme of Delegation – to consider a report which explains the current position regarding the review of the South Hams District Council Constitution;

8.         Member Training – to consider a report which reviews the training needs of (a) Members of this Committee, (b) Members of the Council and (c) town and parish councils in the district;

9.         Members’ Attendance – Annual Review – to consider a report which presents an annual update on the level of Members’ attendance at public meetings of the Council;

10.       Standards Committee’s Forward Plan – to consider a report which reviews the Committee’s Forward Plan and reports on progress;

11.       Exclusion of Public and Press - to consider the following resolution to exclude the public and press:- 

            “That in accordance with Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public and press be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following items of business as the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 7c of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act is involved”.

 

12.       Report of Investigating Officer: Complaints for Assessment 

(a)   Complaint SH16/190110 (as previously circulated to Committee Members only); and 

(b)   Complaint SH17/190110 (as previously circulated to Committee Members only).

 

 

 

Members of the public may wish to note that the Council's meeting rooms

are accessible by wheelchairs and have a loop induction hearing system

                                                                               

N.B.    Legal and financial officers will not, as a general rule, be present throughout all meetings, but will be on standby if required.  Members are requested to advise the Member Support Service in advance of the meeting if they require any information of a legal or financial nature.
