1. Minutes - to approve as a correct record and authorise the Chairman to sign the minutes of the meeting of the Committee held on 15 December 2009;
2. Urgent Business - brought forward at the discretion of the Chairman;
3. Division of Agenda - to consider whether the discussion of any item of business is likely to lead to the disclosure of exempt information;

Declarations of Interest
- Members are invited to
declare any personal or prejudicial interests, including the nature and extent
of such interests; they may have in any items to be considered at this meeting;
5. Joint Standards Committees – to consider a report which seeks to examine whether to establish a Joint Standards Committee with Teignbridge District Council and West Devon Borough Council;
6. Improving the Complaints Process – to consider a report which seeks approval to the ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ booklets for publication;
7. Training for Standards Committee Members – to consider a report which seeks Member agreement to participate as appropriate in the South Hams Member Development Programme;
8. Forward Plan for the Standards Committee for 2009/10 and 2010/11 – an updated Forward Plan is attached at page x for the Committee to discuss, amend if seen fit and approve. Please note the date for the June meeting: Wednesday, 30 June 2010. Later dates await the approval of the Council at its Annual Meeting in May.
9. Exclusion of Public and Press - to consider the following resolution to exclude the public and press:-
“That in accordance with Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public and press be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following items of business as the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 7c of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act is involved”.
10. Complaints Update – the Register of Complaints to the Standards Committee, as it currently stands.

are accessible by wheelchairs and have a loop induction hearing system
N.B. Legal and financial officers will not, as a general rule, be present throughout all meetings, but will be on standby if required. Members are requested to advise the Member Support Service in advance of the meeting if they require any information of a legal or financial nature.
